Aepe Designs – Childrens Chair by Roman Bentley
Published on October 3, 2013
London based product designer Roman Bentley studied Engineering Design at Kingston University. He’s always worked for himself honing his own skills for design and technology, as inspired by mainly Scandinavian designers – launches the Aepe chair due to this ‘flatpack’ furniture craze that has been happening for many years.
“I have friends and family with small children who are always looking for affordable furniture so I began the quest for a solution, what more can I say its a chair but the thought, the materials used, the design, construction and the practicality of it makes it unique in my opinion.” Roman Bentley
What makes the Aepe chair series so special is the story that comes with it. The chairs come in a range of colours symbolising a different ‘Ape’ or ‘Aepe’ character with respect. Each character has a role in the story that sits well with all children, they can choose their favourite and follow their story online, so in essence when purchasing an Aepe chair you’re acquiring an engaging experience for children, beginning with the educational aspect of learning how net shapes can create wonderful designs all the way to reading stories to expand their imaginations.
