I grew up in Qasaba, Kabul. My family moved there when I was 5, and at the time there were several wars going on. My brother Mahmud and I we played every day on the fields surrounded with the highest mountains in our neighbourhood.
He felt the urge to connect design to the human emotional sphere and to values that reflect how we are as human beings, by trying to create a bridge between the metaphysical and the material world using design as medium of expression.

Transitions is a set of cutlery that develops the motor skills of a handicapped hand, step by step. Throughout the steps, the function of the cutlery and the way of holding them grow together in parallel.
The Uncle Sam machine processes grains one by one, focusing on the transformation of corn into popcorn. An explosion that usually occurs en masse is here isolated so that the spectacle can be enjoyed. Satisfaction is at once visual and gastronomic.
“Respond” is an interactive coat rack, which moves when a coat is hung on it. It is an ingenious weight system, using precision carpentry and the element of surprise. After all, surprise arouses curiosity, and curiosity can lead you to the pleasure of understanding.
