Festivalet is an independent craft and design fair

Festivalet is an independent craft and design fair in Barcelona organized by Duduá*, who carefully select the most interesting designers and artisans from in and out of Spain. Since its start it has been very well received by both its participants and visiting members of the public and has become a benchmark in the country. It is a great opportunity to meet the artists behind their craft in person and buy unique and original items not normally found in regular stores.
It started small in December 2009, with just 10 stands and since then has extended by increasing its participants and attendees. It has just held its 6th edition at the Maritime Museum of Barcelona in December 2013.
Lectures and videos related to the theme of creation and independent and local production took place alongside the craft fair.
Participants are characterized by their small-scale and local production, from cobblers, potters or chefs among others, but always with a product design, well looked after presentation and consistency in their productions.
Duduá opened its doors as a craft shop and independent art gallery, in Barcelona in 2006. Its goal has always been to promote old school crafts with a younger generation in a fun and contemporary way. It has continued to grow and is now a reference point for contemporary craft in Spain. Nowadays Dudua is located in the Gracia neighbourhood of Barcelona and its weekly workshops are often head by both national and international artists and designers. These workshops range from weaving to knitting, sewing, embroidery and electrotextiles.
