Soba reinterprets the traditional bamboo bench, an object still used in lots of places in Japan and which became such an almost invisible object, by adding a twist in its construction to allow it to be easily assembled.
For this lamp collection, Rui Pereira & Ryosuke Fukusada focus was on mixing both traditional and industrial techniques. They wanted to create a unique combination of shadows and colours by using materials from different sources.

In this case, the project highlights the craft of Japanese creative Chifuyu Enomoto. It shows the skills of Chifuyu as he puts together a bamboo basket by hand, over the eight minutes we’re taken through the entire process in almost real time with lots of traditional techniques on show.
