COS × Nendo

COS are in Milan celebrating Salone del Mobile with a specially commissioned installation and temporary concept store. This year COS are working with Japanese design studio, nendo, who have created an installation that explores their distinctive philosophy; re-imagining the everyday to create a small ‘!’ moment.

The project suggests a link between the light and the word as a knowledge metaphor. In this project, both are the same thing that allows to make visible, to understand, to share and to spread both concepts understood as a means and not as an end. The Making of Ephemicropolis with 100,000 staples

100,000 Staples. Approx floor area 600x300cm. Stacks of staples were broken into varying sizes from full stacks about 12cm high down to single staples. These stacks were then stood up and arranged over a period of 40 hours.

Taming the wild by 3dneighbours

Taming the Wild is an installation that reflects this dialogue between the natural course that leaves follow, and our ability to mould them into the forms that we wish. It will be part of the Bagni di Lucca Art Festival located in the beautifull region of Tuscany, Italy.

DYSKOGRAF is a graphic disk reader. Each disc is created by visitors to the installation by way of felt tip pens provided for their use. The mechanism then reads the disk, translating the drawing into a musical sequence.

The whole world installation by Chris Sauter

Time lapse for NY Design Week 2011 by Stephen Dirkes

In this project, Stephen Dirkes was commissioned by core77 and Gallery R Pure to shoot a time lapse of Frederick McSwain’s installation of “Die”, a portrait of designer Tobias Wong in 13,138 white dice ( each die represent every day the designer lived before committing suicide at 35 ).
