“Waste to Waves” recycles waste polystyrene foam into new surfboards
Published on July 3, 2015
Waste to Waves is an exciting program that recycles waste polystyrene foam into new surfboards. Waste to Waves is a program by non-profit Sustainable Surf.
Waste to Waves (W2W) – a surf focused “styrofoam” recycling program from your friends at Sustainable Surf, that seeks to turn your trash into more sustainable surf gear.
W2W is designed to make it easy for you drop off all your waste “styrofoam” packaging materials at your local CA surf shop to get recycled, where it can then have a chance to become incorporated into a new recycled “eco-friendlier” EPS surfboard blank.
Waste to Waves – is made possible by their sponsors REEF and SPY, and in partnership with surfboard blank manufacturer Marko Foam, Surfrider Foundation (in support of their “Rise Above Plastics” program for local CA chapters), Waste Management (operational support for our special foam drive event days) and Avangard Innovative (who is loaning them one our their great foam densifiers).
